the happiest of holidays!

This Christmas is extra special! This is the first year in our (almost) ten year relationship that we have spent Christmas morning together, just the two of us. And we are also uber thankful to have nate's health improving every day!

We were so excited to be able to begin our own traditions this year:

On Friday night we drove around looking at Christmas lights, while eating In N Out and drinking hot chocolate...no, it really is a great combination!

Christmas Eve was spent at a friend's house, who made us a delicious traditional Christmas meal, and included a thrilling game of Wits and Wagers. The night concluded with each of us opening a present of new pajamas. Nate 100%, hands down won....he got me a sloth onesie, and I fell in love with my husband all over again! We ended the night falling asleep to "It's a Wonderful Life".

Christmas morning we made a big breakfast of chocolate banana waffles and a sausage and pepper scramble. We topped it off with a breakfast cocktail that included amaro liqeuer, whiskey, + espresso coffee (it's now my most favorite cocktail ever!).

After breakfast we opened presents. At the top of my list was an old school letter board that I have been wanting for.ever, and my brother won mate over (again) with a super awesome sleeping bag. Nate may have cried a little when he saw it.

The rest of our day was spent cleaning + packing in preparation for our drive to Tennessee tomorrow. It wasn't a busy day, but it was probably my most favorite Christmas!
